Video Editor

THE ROLE

We are looking for a talented video editor to join our team, primarily editing content for broadcast television, alongside content for digital and social platforms.

The successful candidate will be confident using Avid Media Composer and/or Adobe Premiere Pro and will have a strong understanding of visual storytelling.

You will join one of the UK’s leading independent television and film production companies, working alongside a team of editors to create VTs and other content for daily live programmes.

LOCATION

Based on site at the Tinopolis Centre, Park Street, Llanelli, SA15 3YE.

KEY SKILLS

Essential

• Experience of video editing for broadcast television.
• Proficiency in Avid Media Composer and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.
• A strong understanding of spoken Welsh, sufficient to edit Welsh-language content confidently and accurately.
• Strong editorial judgement and the ability to shape stories through pictures, pacing, sound and graphics.
• The ability to respond effectively to editorial feedback.
• An understanding of how editing style, pacing and format suit different audiences and platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with producers, directors and technical teams.
• The ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Awareness of broadcast guidelines, compliance requirements and quality standards.

Desirable

• Experience of editing content for daily or live programmes.
• Experience of creating digital and social media content.
• Experience of DaVinci Resolve and/or Adobe After Effects.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

• Edit VTs and other video content for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Work with producers and directors to develop clear, engaging stories.
• Adapt content for different formats, including short-form social content and longer broadcast versions.
• Carry out audio editing and balancing, colour correction, and the application of graphics and titles.
• Work quickly and accurately to meet programme deadlines and respond to changing editorial requirements.
• Collaborate across departments and take advantage of opportunities to develop new skills.

JOB DETAILS

Contract: Initial 12-month contract with a 6-month probation period

FURTHER DETAILS

Working hours:

An average of 40 hours per week over 5 days. Working patterns will vary according to production schedules and may include early starts, late finishes, weekends and bank holidays.

Holiday:

In addition to statutory bank holidays, you will be entitled on a pro rata basis to 25 days’ holiday per year.

Pension:

Salaried staff are entitled to join the pension scheme subject to the terms of the scheme. Tinopolis will contribute 3% of your basic salary, and you will be expected to contribute 5%.
