Main Job Purpose

We are looking for a video editor, with experience in using Avid’s Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro editing software. The successful candidate will join one of the UK’s leading independent TV and Film production companies.  You will be working within a team of highly talented and dynamic editors on live TV programmes. 

Position Location:     Llanelli, 

 

Key Skills 

  • Significant experience in video editing for broadcast and online video. 
  • Proficiency with industry standard editing tools (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer) 
  • Experience with Davinci Resolve and/or Baselight 
  • Strong editorial judgement; ability to shape stories visually, through pacing, sound, graphics. Also to decide what works (or doesn’t) for different platforms. 
  • Ability to work under pressure / tight deadlines. Flexibility: content can also be reactive. 
  • Good communication skills; ability to collaborate with producers, directors and technical teams. 
  • Understanding of audience trends: what video content performs well in different contexts (TV vs digital vs mobile). 
  • Awareness of broadcast guidelines, compliance rules, quality standards. 


Further Requirements: 

  • Being able to adapt video content to different formats (short form for social, full-length for broadcast etc.) 
  • Dealing with technical aspects: sound mixing, colour correction, applying graphics / titling etc. 
  • Ability to work at speed and to strict deadlines in a fast-moving environment 
  • Sometimes working irregular hours depending on schedules of live events / delivery deadlines. 

 

Location: Tinopolis Centre, Park Street, Llanelli SA15 3YE
Salary: Dependent on experience
Contract: Initial 12 month contract with a 6 month probation period

Further Details

Working Hours:     An average of 40 hours per week, over 5 days. Due to the nature of the job, flexibility is expected, including weekends and bank holidays.
Holidays:     In addition to the statutory bank holiday, you will be entitled pro rata to 25 days holiday over a year.
Pension:    Paid staff are entitled to join a pension scheme subject to the terms of any existing scheme. If you are a member of the pension scheme, Tinopolis will contribute 3% of your basic salary to the scheme. You are expected to contribute 5%
