Role responsibilities

The Senior People Partner will be responsible for leading a team of People Partners to provide strategic and high-level operational People advice and guidance to designated area/s of responsibility. As a trusted advisor, working collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and functional senior leadership to help shape, guide, and deliver effective outcomes in line with TfW's strategic aims.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

  • Identify key people issues within designated business areas, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver solutions in a timely and achievable manner.
  • Establish effective working relationships with Centres of Excellence and other key stakeholders across the business, to plan and deliver the suite of People related interventions to deliver a High Performing Culture that supports performance, engagement, and continuous improvement. Areas include EDI, Learning & Development, Workforce Planning and Talent
  • Advise, plan and support designated business areas with organisational design needs and people change initiatives, leading all people aspects through to conclusion.
  • Lead and line manage a team of People Partners, enabling the effective performance and development of individuals within that team as well as more widely across the People and Culture team.
  • Advise, lead constructive engagement with recognised Trade Unions in line with TfWs Social Partnership principles through trust and transparency

 

Who we’re looking for

  • A comprehensive understanding of the People landscape and UK Employment Law, handling diverse People issues, including transformation and organisational design, culture, reward, capability, and performance enhancement as well as being well versed in current employment legislation
  • Creative mindset and passion to innovate, proactively bringing and using external insight to improve and enhance current practices
  • Experience of working with a wide stakeholder group and building relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to manage and own multiple competing priorities and deliverables
  • Experience if working with a range of Trade Unions dealing with recognition agreements, disputes
  • Presenting business cases that drive progressive solutions for the betterment of the workforce to Exec / Board

 

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.

 

Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
