Role responsibilities

The Recruitment Manager will be responsible for leading the Transport for Wales’s (TfW) recruitment provision, including operational resourcing, recruitment strategy and leading TfW’s effort to address the sector wide skills gap.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

  • Write the annual recruitment strategy by devising projects and working closely with the Recruitment and Early Talent teams to articulate the Recruitment teams approach the meeting its strategic corporate objectives.
  • Provide advice and guidance on escalated, varied and complex issues relating to area of work and resolve complex problems independently, referring major issues to senior colleagues.
  • Lead TfW’s approach to addressing the sector wider skills gap by working with the various partners throughout the supply chain.
  • Lead TfW internal recruitment provision by managing the team’s delivery across the business and ensure the team effectively engage with internal and external customers at all levels to provide a high-quality standard of service.
  • Implement processes for measuring the team’s performance and levels of service to ensure these are maintained and continuously review to deliver optimum performance.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as a Recruitment Manager, leading high performing and delivery teams, with a strong understanding of recruitment processes and strategics. ·
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a large and complex internal resourcing operation.
  • Experience of developing mutually beneficial relationships with service providers and supply chain stakeholders. ·
  • Ability to manage a budget and demonstrate spending requirements.
  • Worked at a strategic level to design, develop and implement strategies.

 

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.

 

Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
