First Campus Communications Officer - Part Time (0.5)

University of South Wales

£29,515 - £34,189 (pro rata)

The highly-successful First Campus, Reaching Wider team within Marketing and Student Recruitment is seeking to appoint a First Campus Communications Officer to support the team’s work within South East Wales.

First Campus, Reaching Wider exists to widen access to higher education by tackling barriers to entry, progression and success in higher education.

Our mission is to engage young people aged 10 to 16 years, and adults 21 and over with no level 4 qualifications, from the bottom two quintiles of the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation. We also work with looked after children, care leavers and young carers to help reduce the barriers to education faced by these groups. We achieve this through offering a suite of long-term interventions to support attainment raising, increase awareness and provide support and progression to higher education and level 4 learning opportunities.

The Communications Officer role requires someone who can communicate fluently (verbal and writing) in Welsh as the post-holder will be expected to produce content bilingually.

The post holder will be responsible for: designing and delivering the First Campus partnership’s Communication Strategy, ensuring First Campus has impact and presence internally within partner HEIs and externally with the wider sector. Producing and disseminating case studies and reports evidencing impact to key stakeholders and the wider sector to promote best practice.

This position is based at the University of South Wales, campus to be confirmed, however the post-holder will be expected to work across campuses and partnership HEIs when required.

The terms and conditions of the post (including grade and salary) will be those of the University of South Wales.
