Communications Officer

Location Llandaff Campus 

Salary £30,395 - £33,199 

Role Summary:

The post holder will manage the public information, marketing, publications, media relations and copywriting needs of the University. This will be achieved by establishing close relationships with senior Cardiff Met colleagues and conveying communications activity accurately and sensitively to the University's retained external communications providers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Liaise with colleagues in other support units and academic schools in order to identify potential news stories and key communications messages.

Organise monthly communications planning meetings with the appointed service provider(s) - advising on any pending issues or crises and prioritising PR on the communications plan.

Provide assistance on Corporate Events where needed and in particular, oversee the University's input to the 'Llandaff Open Doors' Community Event.

Understand Cardiff Met's corporate objectives through regular liaison with senior colleagues in order to brief the appropriate service provider effectively on an ongoing basis.
